Alternative concept of frequency bands - subs, tone, noise
An Alternative concept of frequency bands apart from lows, mids and highs is to think in frequency bands of subs, tone and noise.
1 Hz to 64 Hz subs (felt frequencies)
64-150 Hz lowend tone (energy of the mix, weight of the fundamental notes)
64 Hz to 3000 Hz tone
3000 Hz to 20000 Hz noise (you ll hear that clearly when you engage a waterfall HP filter on a sound at 3000 Hz)
I have made good experiences with using these bands as a side chain band for Multiband Dynamics across the ENTIRE frequency range.
What are your experiences with these frequency bands ?
Are you using other frequency band concepts and what are they about ?
Best, Mario
