I get that. I make music that I enjoy listening to. While I do like plenty of other music, so far I haven't found anyone else that sounds quite like me. I end up listening to my own work a lot.

(That said, I have eclectic tastes and interests and was making music for many years without sticking to a consistent direction. It was all fun but I found I wasn't into listening to the results... except for a small subset of what i was doing. So I decided to concentrate on that and refine it.)

But aside from that...

I just very recently got into Heilung and am practically obsessed. Though they're playing mostly primitive instruments and ancient sources for their lyrics, the production and aesthetics have a lot in common with the kinds of electronic music that I like. They kick down the door, but they've got more than just empty posturing and rote formulas once they're in.

The kind of music I'm into tends to vary over time -- sometimes I'm into a particular subgenre for just a few months, sometimes for years, and sometimes I circle back. But some current favorites anyway:
